The Seacology Monument
The Seacology Monument

The Seacology Monument was commissioned by and made specifically for the King of Tonga, King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV. It was dedicated for his efforts to provide a wildlife preservation to the flying foxes of Kolovai Village.
The stone is made out of California Dark Diamond Grey Granite with a highly polished front area and machine-finish smoothed sides. This type of granite has excellent engraving properties and it is particularly effective with the detailed text. The monument is mounted on a neutral Light Grey Granite base with an overall height of forty-two inches. It is the most permanent type of dedication stone available. Commissioned, fabricated, and dedicated in 2001.
